Stephanie Brody-Lederman

 

Stephanie Brody-Lederman is an artist whose work at first  suggests a simple story hovering beneath the surface of the canvas.  She uses familiar imagery  i.e., birds, boats, trees, etc., encouraging each viewer  to create a personal narrative reflecting individual associations .She presently works between studios in Manhattan, East Hampton, and Paris, France. Among the grants and awards she has received  are: NYFA, LMCC, Artists Space, Percent for Art, SOS Grant, Hassam and Speicher Award, NYFA/NEA LINE Grant, Ariana Foundation for the Arts Grant, E.D Foundation Grant and Percent for Art award. Her work has been seen on the cover of The Paris Review and L’Oeil Magazines, and has been shown at the Cooper Hewitt Museum, Guild Hall Museum, NY, Mattituck Museum, CT, Montclair Art Museum, MoMa, NYC, San Francisco Airport and Musee Bourdelle, Paris, France. She recently had a solo exhibition of her work from at Guild Hall Museum, East Hampton, NY.
